Spotlights of the Month!

Summer Reading 2004 Program

Get ready to read for the Summer Reading 2004 Program. Children ages 6-11 will be given reading lists for age appropriate books to complete their reading adventure with the Sneaks reading character. Children in the Pre-K age group will also participate in the reading program with their own activities and reading lists. In addition, the library system is providing an abundance of special summer events, which include puppet shows by the Blue Sky Puppet Theatre, Susan Wall’s Carousel Puppets and Kaydee puppets. You will also find American Folk music shows, songs of Africa and Hawaiian Rhythms. There are also a variety of activities scheduled for older children including “What’s the Matter” and “Dinosaurs” presented by the Maryland Science Center, “Reptile World”, and “Close Encounters with Magic.” There’s something for every child in events at the library this summer.
